Cornelius Krause of CK Dental graduated from Freie Universitaet Berlin, one of the best dental schools in Germany. In his time in Germany, he worked with internationally renowned dentists to enhance his knowledge and practice of minimal-invasive dentistry as well as cosmetic dentistry.

His passion for the latest technology and its implication in day-to-day dentistry for the benefit of the patient could not entirely be satisfied until the opening of CK Dental where patients can now benefit from the latest technology together with his calm and gentle approach, vast experience and reassurance.

Sheryl was Hospital Director at the Nuffield Hospital in Bristol before she left to start her family and joined Cornelius in running CK Dental.

Sheryl’s focus is on patient experience which, surprisingly given that she is married to a dentist, stems from her own nervousness of the dentist. With over 20 years management and team leadership experience within the Health & Wellbeing sector, she knows the importance of putting patients at the heart of what they do. This is why the husband-and-wife team have deliberately created a calm and welcoming reception for families at their new dental clinic.

Nick initially studied Biological Sciences at Manchester University which led to research positions in oral and dental science at the University of Bristol. There he completed a Masters degree in dental research which led him to study dentistry at Bristol Dental School where he qualified in 2007. He then worked for fifteen years at a busy dental practice in Stroud where he met our Principal Dentist, Cornelius.

He enjoys the many challenges of general dentistry, and is a firm believer that prevention is fundamental to the management of good oral health. Nick enjoys building a good rapport and trust with patients, and supporting them to take care of their oral health.

Having completed his training at the University of Bristol, Alex graduated in 2016 with distinction, whilst receiving awards for restorative dentistry and the prestigious BDA Medal. Following graduation, Alex completed his FD year on the South West London scheme obtaining vast experience in treating high need cases before moving to Bristol in 2017.

Alex is a confident and approachable dentist capable of providing all aspects of general dentistry. His friendly attitude helps build rapport rapidly allowing patients to feel at ease throughout any dental treatment. Alex has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry helping his patients improve their smile by straightening and whitening their teeth, and is a certified Invisalign provider.

Outside of dentistry, Alex enjoys playing football, tennis and keeping fit in the gym. He has a Cavapoo dog called Freddie.

Originally from Suffolk, Josie qualified with a Bachelors degree from The University of Leeds in 2014. She has since worked in many cities across the UK as well as Australia; travelling, and gaining experience and knowledge from clinicians and patients alike in each city.

Josie is a caring clinician who takes pride in her work. She ensures that her patients receive the highest standard of care whilst creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the surgery. Her bubbly and empathetic attitude allow her to put anxious patients at ease, creating an enjoyable experience for patients of all ages.

Outside of dentistry, Josie enjoys travelling, eating out and exploring the local area with her beloved fox red lab / vizsla cross pooch, Murph.

Associate DentistDr Chris Hugh

Chris qualified from Cardiff in 2015, then began his training in Bristol. Since then he has worked in both private and NHS dental practices in Bristol and Cheltenham.

Although Chris enjoys all aspects of dentistry his main interest is root canal treatments. Now, he is undertaking a Masters in Endodontics to further his knowledge and skills in complex dental procedures. Chris always ensures that patients feel completely relaxed when having dental treatments, by creating a friendly, calm and relaxed environment.

Outside work, Chris certainly doesn’t sit still. Still an active member of Barry Town United football club, Chris has played at club international level, as well as enjoying Futsal, climbing and golf.

Lynsey-JayneDr Lynsey-Jayne Fulton

Born in Northern Ireland, but a Bristol resident for the past five years, Lynsey-Jayne graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2018. She moved to Bristol to complete her foundation training at Keynsham Dental Care. After two years working as an Associate, she continued her training in the Maxillofacial department at Gloucester Royal Hospital and then in restorative dentistry at Cardiff Dental Hospital. In 2023, she became a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of Edinburgh.

With a keen interest in minimally invasive, aesthetic dentistry, Lynsey-Jayne became an Invisalign Go provider in 2020, so that she could offer patients a discreet alternative to traditional braces.

Outside of work she enjoys Pilates and playing tennis, while also exploring all that the South West has to offer!

Kareem Mohamed at CK DentalDr Kareem Mohammed

After graduating from Manchester in 2012, Kareem began his dental training, gravitating towards oral and maxillofacial surgery – treating complex dental cases and medical conditions related to the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face.

Kareem has developed his skills in a variety of cosmetic dental procedures, such as prosthetics, crowns, veneers and composite bonding. Building on this, Kareem specialises in facial aesthetics, offering patients safe and effective treatments for enhancing their looks, which give balance to the whole face and give lasting results.

As a clinical teaching fellow at Bristol Dental Hospital, Kareem enjoys supporting students with their own journey. He also plays football, and enjoys travelling and photography.

Dr Chris Chucas

Originally from Barry, in South Wales, at the age of 18 Chris moved to Liverpool to study dentistry. He graduated in 2012 and since then, Chris has worked in practices in South Wales and has completed post-graduate courses in sedation and oral surgery – his area of special interest. Now, alongside CK Dental, Chris works across various practices delivering oral surgery and sedation services, and is a clinical lecturer at Cardiff Dental School.

With a passion for providing the best experience possible for patients, you can expect to be in highly capable hands. His focus is mainly to help his patients relax, particularly those who are nervous or undergoing more complex treatments.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys outdoor exercise and sports – especially water and snow sports!

Dr Neil Rasburn is a consultant anaesthetist working in the NHS and also with Nuffield Health.

He trained in Bristol and hold a substantive Consultant post at University Hospitals Bristol. Dr Rasburn is dual accredited in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. In both sectors, he specialises in Thoracic surgery, General surgery, Ophthalmology and Dental surgery.

Becky gained her Dental Nurse qualification at Bristol Dental Hospital in 2010 while working for the NHS. In total, she has gained 21 years experience working in both the public and private sector.

Becky has a keen interest in dental implants, with a further qualification in radiography. She enjoyed assisting in dental implant surgery procedures at Longwell Green Dental and Implant Clinic. She also enjoys helping nervous patients through an anxious time at the dentist.

Outside of work, Becky enjoys travelling at home and abroad. She also enjoys baking with her two children.

Emily completed her dental nursing training in 2019 whilst working at a busy NHS practice in Trowbridge. Since then, she has worked in a private practice in Bath before joining the CK Dental team.

Emily has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry and enjoys assisting the dentist to give the patient their perfect smile.

Outside of work, Emily has a keen interest in football and currently plays five-a-side football, along with seeing friends.

Lucy has spent her life working in customer facing roles and says that she will go ‘above and beyond’ to deliver an excellent customer experience.

Lucy previously worked at the Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital alongside Principal Dentist Cornelius and his wife Sheryl.

Lucy says that she enjoys interacting with people and helping to make them feel content about visiting the dentist instead of feeling nervous.

When not looking after her young granddaughter, Lucy has a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hiking and, more recently, playing tennis again.
